Reading blog entry 4 (Monster)
The main character Steve is on trial for the murder of an attempted robbery that ended up being a murder. He is in the courtroom and his odds are very low on walking out of there with a light sentence, if I were to give him advice it would be to treat everybody with respect and to acknowledge what he’s done. So don’t expect anyone in the courtroom to be on your side. I would tell him to put a lot of thought into the words that come out of his mouth, one mess up and he’ll be screwed. He needs to address his situation and the crime he’s committed and give his condolences. I’m not saying that he’s going to walk out of there with a light sentence but at least he had a good court appearance and was very proper. Maybe just maybe they might give him parole other than no parole and dying in prison if he would’ve been disrespectful.
